a valentine breakfast

We had a really low key Valentine's Day.  John had to work in the morning, so I gave the kids their presents (one inexpensive toy and some candy) and then made them a special breakfast.  Lola gets excited, but Max is really the one that wants to celebrate holidays.  I'm always happy to oblige.

This was the first time I've ever made waffles!  Yeah for cute misshapen waffles!  Don't be impressed we made them from scratch, I just didn't realize we were out of pancake mix- but man is it easy.

So Mondrian, I know...

Someone kept licking the syrup drips.
